The town of Treviso, near Venice is often defined "the garden of Venice" on account of the green parks along the river Sile , which collects water from a number of affluents before reaching the lagoon at Torcello.Surrounded by ancient walls and enriched by solemn gothic  churches and frecoed houses, Treviso is also characterized by many thriving industries and last  but not least by and excellent gastronomy (the famous red radicchio!).
The access to Villa Gradenigo, a large avenue surrounded by plane trees and adorned by statues, was destroyed during World War II, but is now being reconstructed; the alternative entrance is a pleasant driveway surrounded by wallnut trees.
